About the project
While working at Nethouse, I collaborated with the security group Avarn (formerly Nokas) to enhance the sales process for their alarms, security, and surveillance equipment.
Avarn sought a solution to streamline their sales workflow and improve the experience for their sales personnel. The idea was to equip sales staff with tablets, enabling them to create projects on-site by photographing floor plans, searching for products, and drag-and-dropping equipment icons to map out installations.
The system calculated pricing and materials in real-time, allowing sales representatives to generate and send detailed quotations and installation plans directly to customers on the spot.

My role
My role in this project was to design the User Experience, User Interface, the components used to build it and lead the testing. The system was branded according to Avarns styling guide.

Design & testing workflow
Avarn needed a tailored solution, and Nethouse was entrusted with the project. As the UX/UI designer and tester, I worked closely with Avarn to ensure the solution met their needs.
We began by establishing a sprint-based workflow, combining Avarn’s user expertise and business insights with our design and development capabilities. The design process focused on understanding user needs, mapping detailed user flows, and collaborating with the customer and our developers to refine the solution.
After iterating on the design, I created a prototype, which was presented to the client and tested with users for feedback. This process continued until we achieved desired user flows. I applied Avarn’s branding, integrating their colors, fonts, and design principles into the design.
I also led testing throughout the project, focusing and prioritising on risk and quality criterias. The testing included functional, backend, compatibility, hardware, frontend, usability, and exploratory testing. I involved the entire team in testing sessions, ensuring continuous feedback and improvement during each iteration. I also coached and helped the customer to organise themselves to perform acceptance tests.
The result was a solution that significantly enhanced the sales process, making it intuitive and efficient for Avarn’s sales personnel, while improving overall user satisfaction.
